Media

All this bitchin' and moaning about the "left-wing media". Maybe it's time to rally the troops and show these hay-heads what a vibrant, vocal, and take-no-prisoners left-wing media really looks like!

Yeah like CBS

Major, corporate-owned media like CBS have been so compromised by their perceived need to maintain access to administration sources that they have just become propaganda pawns for them. And the corporate owners like it that way. They think they have too much to lose. What they don't know is that they have already lost their most valuable asset, credibility. So any conscientious reporter really has no option but to go after the stories like they have nothing to lose. Because they don't.

In a small town in Oklahoma a city attorney was able to cow the whole city council by threatening lawsuits anytime a council member threatened to have an idea of their own. That is until they appointed a supposedly mild-mannered 80-year-old lady to the council to fill out an unexpired term. With no aspirations for re-election and little property to protect she was able to publicly peg the attorney as a "liar and a bully" in the local newspapers. Everyone knew he was but was afraid to say so. Now that little town is in an uproar and justifiably so.

Emperor Bush has no clothes and a truly left media that is not beholden to the power structure needs to stand up and say so. Loudly, often, and truthfully.

Seems to me that media has been having a hay day with Bush from fabricating evidence about his stint in the national guard, to misrepresenting Abu Grab. Would you prefer they lie about him doing drugs in the whitehouse? or should they lie about him trying to enact a draft if re-elected?
The problem that the left wing media has is that they only have paranoia and assumptions, and although that may make a good headline but people listening if you just scream crazy things all the time.

Sorry didn't finish my thought, I thought the reference was to Mainstream Media, the kind that is on TV every night NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, CNBC, and CNN. Not newsmax or World net daily, everyone reading those know they lean just as far right as The Washington Monthly leans left.

Implying that there is some sort of equivalence between WND and Washington Monthly is like positing an equivalence between fairy tales and actuary tables. One is hard facts and the other is just make-believe.
