Stem Cell Dodges
Some new techniques have been hypothesized that get around orthodox Catholic objections to embryonic stem cells. One is to make an embryo that can't survive. Another is to make an incomplete embryo to begin with. Hmmm.
The purpose of stem-cell research is to generate specialized cells from unspecialized cells and use them for various therapies. The source of those cells is immaterial to the research as long as the stem-cell lines are sustainable. What do you think the purpose is?
